In October of 2015, Forbes magazine released an article labeling Arizona “the best state for future job growth”. Although this does not put us at the top quite yet, we are beginning to rise above our neighbor states and are expecting a 6.3% increase of career opportunities by 2019, while our unemployment rate has dropped 3.1% as of last year. Experts are also saying Arizona has become a landing spot for expanding business due to its skilled workforce.
A few company headquarters you can expect to be calling Arizona home in the near future are GM(General Motors) hoping to fulfill 500 positions by 2018.
Northern Trust Bank is offering 1,000 new positions by 2018, and Home Depot is currently looking to fill 800 positions.
So what does this mean for residents here in the valley? Expect our population to continue to grow and new development to be at an upswing as the State makes an effort to accommodate the growth. We are also seeing a bit more traffic out there. New growth also means new drivers on the road, so always take proper caution and buckle up. Space may be feeling a bit tight here in Arizona, however things are beginning to look up for our great state as we continue to make a remarkable post-recession recovery.
